What we repair

High-frequency spindle motors from CNC routers and machining centres, whether the problem is the motor or the bearings. We isolate the fault first, so you are not paying for a rebuild when a drawbar or a sensor is what failed.

  • Bearing noise, heat, vibration and runout
  • Loss of power, tripping drives, winding faults
  • Drawbar, collet and tool-change faults on ATC spindles
  • Crash damage: bent shafts, cracked housings, damaged tapers
  • Seals, cooling and encoders

The bearing policy

Every rebuild gets angular-contact spindle bearings in matched duplex sets, ABEC 7 to ABEC 9, from SKF and the German and Italian bearing makers. No exceptions and no unbranded bearings: the bearing set is the repair.

How a repair goes

  1. Strip and inspect

The spindle is disassembled and every component is evaluated individually: bearings, shaft, housing, drawbar, seals, encoder and motor windings.

  2. Written quote

You get a written quote with the findings and the parts needed. Work never begins until you approve it.

  3. OEM parts, not re-machined ones

Worn components are replaced with authorised OEM parts rather than machined back to size. Bearings are angular-contact spindle bearings in matched duplex sets, ABEC 7 to ABEC 9, from SKF and German and Italian makers only.

  4. Clean-room reassembly

Reassembly, bearing break-in and dynamic balancing happen in a clean environment, because a few microns of grit is what kills a fresh bearing.

  5. Test, then ship

Every spindle is run and tested before it goes back to you, and the repair carries the same full six-month warranty.

Questions we get every week

How long does a repair take?

Standard turnaround is generally 3 to 5 working days from receipt, once you have approved the quote. An emergency service is available for an additional $750.

What does it cost?

It depends on what the inspection finds, which is why every job starts with a written quote. As a rule a rebuild is a fraction of a new spindle, and you keep the spindle that already fits your machine.

Repair or replace?

If the housing and shaft are sound, repair. If the spindle has crashed hard or the motor is beyond rewinding, we tell you so in the quote, and we stock new Perske and Colombo units if replacement makes more sense.

My spindle crashed. Is it worth sending?

Usually yes. Crash damage is assessed at inspection like everything else, and you only pay for the inspection outcome you approve. Photos of the damage with your quote request help us give you an early read.

How do I ship it to you?

See How to ship a spindle: drain the coolant, protect the taper, pack it so it cannot move, and put your contact details in the box.

Do you come to us?

Spindle repair is bench work: the spindle comes to us. If you need help diagnosing the machine before you pull the spindle, call and we will talk it through.

Ready to send it in?

Tell us the brand, the model and what it is doing. We come back with a written quote before any work starts.
