How to ship a spindle for repair
A spindle that arrives damaged in transit is a bigger repair than the one you sent. Ten minutes of packing avoids it.
Request a quote first
Send the details and photos through the quote form or call us. We confirm we can help, give you a reference for the job and the address to ship to.
Drain and dry it
Liquid-cooled spindles: drain the coolant and cap the ports. Blow out any chips and dust from the housing. Remove the tool holder and the collet nut.
Protect the taper and the shaft
Fit the taper cover if you have it, otherwise wrap the nose in clean cloth and bubble wrap. Never let the shaft or taper carry the weight of the spindle in the box.
Immobilise it
Double-box heavy units. Fill every gap with foam or bubble wrap so the spindle cannot move at all, and mark the box FRAGILE with the shaft orientation.
Put your details in the box
Your name, company, phone number, email, the machine it came from and the job reference. If the encoder cable or connector came off with it, send them too.
We ship rebuilt spindles back the same way: taper protected, immobilised, insured. Rush jobs go out the day they pass test. Shipping costs are on the quote, so there are no surprises at collection.
Ready to send it in?
Tell us the brand, the model and what it is doing. We come back with a written quote before any work starts.
